1st January 2007 Part 25 of the
Qld Development Code requires all
new homes constructed to contribute
to water saving measures. Namely,
the installation of a Rainwater
tank connected to specific services.

Specific Part 25 Requirements
The requirements for Part 25 of
QDC include:
- 5,000 litre tank for homes
or 3,000 litres for units
- Collection from which ever
is the lessor of 50% of roof area
or 100sqm.
- Connection to toilets, cold
water tap of Washing machine and
outdoor tap
- Continuous supply (either trickle
top-up or automatic switching
devise)
- Regulation overflow to stormwater
with air gap
- Leaf and first flush diversion
- Pump noise and pressure sizing
- Signage and labelling.
