RAINWATER TANKS BRISBANE, REBATE, RAIN SOURCE TANKS BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

South-East Queensland residents are now in the grip of the worst drought in recorded history. And are now learning how level five water restrictions will affect them and their way of life. The Queensland Water Commission has been consulting the community on draft details of level five water restrictions - to come into force on April 10 - but will release the final version tomorrow. It is understood there have only been minor changes to the draft list of restrictions released almost a month ago. The commission is expected to announce eased water use limits for nurseries, professional dog and house washers and carwashes, after concerns were raised that businesses could be put at risk. Under the draft measures, nurseries were only allowed to water outdoors for eight hours a week. The final restrictions are also expected to heed a call from motoring bodies to allow vehicle owners to use buckets of water to remove stains, but not completely wash their vehicles. Residents in 12 South-East Queensland shires will only be allowed to bucket-water their gardens twice a week under the new restrictions. The plan is to save 140 megalitres of water a day, as the south-east grapples with the worst drought on record. Town water cannot be used to fill pools, and households that use more than 800 litres a day will receive a "please explain" note and be asked to self-audit their water use. Business and industry will also be forced to make changes... Call us today on (07) 3324 2200 to arrange a no obligation consultation...

Renewable Energy Credits (RECs)

All solar systems sold by Green Source attract RECs.  This can save up to $2,000+ alone!! Green Source make the process easy by allowing you to claim the RECs up front, as a discount on the purchase price, instead of you having to ‘sell’ them later.

What are Recs?

Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are an electronic form of currency or electronic certificates created when an eligible hot-water system or PV system is installed. They’re traded in a market and are ultimately bought by energy companies, as they count towards the company’s compliance with government targets for renewable energy generation.

For every REC purchased, one megawatt-hour or 1000 kilowatt hours, of renewable electricity is generated.  Each megawatt hour (MWh) of clean, renewable electricity reduces the need for one additional MWh of pollution-causing conventional power.  One REC represents the environmental benefits of this displacement.

You may be eligible to earn RECs when you install renewable energy equipment accredited by the Office of Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER) including solar hot water and solar power. Once created RECs can be traded, purchased or sold.  This reduces the overall cost of installation for you.

The value of RECs is not fixed and varies from time to time.

You should discuss this with your consultant at the time of your quote.

For full details on RECs, visit the ORER website at "http://www.orer.gov.au/recs"

Federal Government Solar Hot Water Rebate
From the Australian Government Website:

The Australian Government is providing a rebate of $1,600 to help eligible home-owners, landlords or tenants replace their electric storage hot water systems with solar or heat pump hot water systems. This offer is part of the Government's $4 billion Energy Efficient Homes Package and it came into effect on 3 February 2009.

The $1,600 Solar Hot Water Rebate will help people save money on their power bills and reduce their household's greenhouse gas emissions. Water heating is the largest single source of greenhouse gas emissions from the average Australian home, accounting for around 28 per cent of home energy use (excluding the family car).

Installing a climate friendly hot water system can save a family up to $700 off their energy bills each year.
